Oxnard with a population of around 200,000 is the largest city in Ventura County and really has something for everyone.

The north and eastern side neighborhoods have more shopping centers, restaurants and urban density.

The western, coastal neighborhoods spreads out with a sleepier, resort style feel....and large swaths of agriculture, the world class Channel Islands Harbor and 11 miles of gorgeous and uncrowded beaches.

There's even a thriving and historic downtown with lots of shopping and restaurants.

Oxnard has a two main sections (A and B).

A) Oxnard is slower paced as you get closer to the western side with the beach and ocean.  These neighborhoods are mixed in with large tracts of agricultural land as well. They include for example:

  • A golf community (northwest)
  • Beach condos and townhomes  (southwest)
  • Canal condos and dock homes.(southwest)
  • The beachside communities of Silver Strand (southwest)
  • Oxnard Shores and Hollywood Beach. (southwest).

B)  The central, north and eastern sections of Oxnard have more urban and densely populated neighborhoods with farms, commercial and industrial areas mixed in. These include:

    • The historic downtown neighborhood (Central, light green).
    • Newer neighborhoods like Riverpark and Wagon Wheel which are close to the Collection Shopping area and Highway 101. (Del Norte area, hot pink).
    • Large sections of suburban style neighborhoods with tract homes ranging from the 1950's to 2000's.
